Research and Education Fund
"Research and education are important components in the fight against dental disease because they address cause and prevention, not just the symptoms. The money that we spend today to finance such projects will reap dividends tomorrow in the form of improved oral health and reduced treatment costs for more people."
—John Yamamoto, DDS, MPH, vice president of Professional Services

Dentist Education
Delta Dental's Health, Education and Research Fund also awards annual grants to dental schools in several of its states to fund presentation of continuing education courses for dental professionals.
These grants help dentists obtain the continuing education units they need while generating revenue for the dental schools. In California alone, more than 10,000 dentists have attended these courses, generating more than $525,000 in gross revenues for the schools.
